Synopsis

The Bundesligaturned a half-century old and is now reflecting on its rich and varied past. According to the President of the German Football League Wolfgang Niersbach, it doesn’t exist “any Insititution in this Country”  that, as the Bundesliga, could enjoy a high number of  viewers week after week. What may now be the world’s best domestic league had some vey humble origins indeed. The Bundesliga, one of the most popular and profitable Championship in the world,  was founded in 1963 to address a problem that could seem unbelievable to today’s fans, who know football as the biggest money sport on the planet: the lack of professionalism.
