Synopsis
Italian snowboarder Michela Moioli, was on the come-up as the youngest racer in the field on the Olympic snowboard cross finals with just 18 years old in Sochi 2014. But after cruising into the big final, her medal hopes quickly evaporated when she crashed and ruptured a cruciate ligament in her knee and returned home to undergo surgery which that kept her out for competition for nearly a year. Four years later, Michela went to PyeongChang as one of the favourites and did not disappoint expectations. She was confirmed queen in this category with an amazing performance to strike the gold medal with a come-from-behind win.
