Synopsis
Thirty years from his death, Rai3 commemorates a journalist who wasn’t just a journalist, with the words, among the others, of Enzo Jannacci, Umberto Eco, Diego Abatantuono, Teo Teocoli, Fabio Fazio, Giovanni Storti. “An out-of-the-common personality: Beppe was an author, an all-around intellectual”. Umberto Eco’s word. And that “Beppe” is Beppe Viola from Milan, a Rai journalist but not only: lyricist, humorist and even actor. A travel, more than a celebration: a path enriched by the words of those who met him, like Gianni Rivera, protagonist of a unforgettable interview on bus with Viola. The “legendary” Derby Club reappears, cradle of the cabaret of Milan, a main place of Beppe Viola’s personal and artistic life, a “factory” of laughs where some actors were born, like Diego Abatantuono who remember him like this: “he was one of the reasons why I began to do this job. His laugh could give you an absolution”.
