Synopsis
“The one I have difficulty tried to complete was my last running commentary. I would like to thank all my listeners, I will miss them”. This was how, on May 12th, 1996, Sandro Ciotti ended his last report. It was a kind and quiet goodbye after over 2400 running commentaries of football matches, 40 San Remo Festivals, 14 Olympic Games, 15 Giri d’Italia and 9 Tour de France. On the 10th Anniversary of his death, Rai Storia celebrates a journalist who made the history of Italian radio, well beyond his “traditional” role as a sports journalist.
