Il personaggio è Giuseppe Moioli nato a Olcio l'8 agosto 1927, un paio di anni prima della fondazione del gruppo remiero delle aquile d'oro e che quindi compie gli 80 anni. La seconda ricorrenza porta al 1947, quando il giovane canottiere aveva 20 anni e con la Moto Guzzi, entrata nella leggenda a Lucerna nel 1947, conquistò il suo primo campionato europeo nel quattro senza timoniere (Giuseppe Moioli, Elio Morille, Giovanni Invernizzi e Franco Faggi) in una memorabile gara che rappresentava la rinascita del canottaggio dopo la guerra. L'anno successivo, l'equipaggio di Mandello veniva consacrato alla gloria olimpica e, fino ai Campionati europei disputati nel 1950 all'Idroscalo di Milano, continuò a imporsi in una delle più esaltanti e belle specialità del canottaggio. Ma se gli altri compagni di barca gradatamente abbandonarono l'impegno, Moioli continuò con altre formazioni a dominare nel quattro senza timoniere, vincendo i titoli europei del 1954 ad Amsterdam e del 1956 a Bled, sino al coronamento del sogno di ogni canottiere laureandosi campione d'Europa nell'otto con timoniere nel 1958 a Poznan.

Ma è soprattutto grazie ai risultati sportivi conseguiti che ha potuto crescere e migliorarsi. E allora qual è il segreto di tanto successo? Come ha fatto il tecnico Umberto Viti a creare questi grandi atleti? In the Chinese tradition, the Dragon is the God of water, and people in Yannan hosting Dragon Boat races pray for timely wind and rain. It has been a ritual, a leisure and a way for cementing friendship between villages.
