The Fort Myers Film Festival, in conjunction with the FICTS leadership, is offering a special night dedicated to sport film teasers in front of the renowned Sidney & Berne Davis Art Center in the heart of downtown Fort Myers on Tuesday, May 21st at 8 PM.
FICTS, the Fédération Internationale Cinéma Télévision Sportifs, recognized by the International Olympic Committee (IOC) with representation in 130 Countries, has embraced the Fort Myers Film Festival. The sports films shown at the Fort Myers Film Festival will be eligible to participate in the “World FICTS Challenge 2024”, the Worldwide Championship of Cinema, Television, and Sport Culture, spanning across twenty festivals in all five continents. FICTS is dedicated to promoting the values of sports through film.
FICTS President Prof. Franco Ascani sent a warm greetings video message: “I apologize that I cannot be with you but I, along with our sport and culture colleagues, wish you great success at your wonderful event. We look forward to seeing you in Fort Myers, Milan, or anywhere around the world we participate in supporting activities“.
The City of Fort Myers, known as one of the most dynamic cities across the United States, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with FICTS, demonstrating its commitment to align itself with the mission of FICTS and promoting the fundamental values of Olympism. The Memorandum includes a public statement of shared goals between the City and FICTS.
The sports preview of the Fort Myers Film Festival will kick off on Tuesday, May 21st, with the generous support of the local government, which is providing a unique open-air theater for the public at no cost. The event will commence at 8:00 PM and will feature a program highlighting a series of sports trailers followed by Q&A sessions with various film producers and experts.
