The “Slovenian International Sports Film FICTS Festival” – now in its fourth edition – will take place in Rogaška Slatina from June 18 to June 20, 2025.

The Festival – organized by Vojko KOROŠEC, Festival director & consultant & license holder – is part of the “World FICTS Challenge” International Circuit of 21 Festival in the 5 Continents.

The slogan of this year, Sports and Culture Hand in Handprovides a unique platform for promoting Olympic values, fair play, and creativity in sports and film.

Highlighted Achievements

  • Nine films from our festival won at the FICTS final in
  • Four Slovenian films received special recognition, including:
  • Basketball Film 2017
  • Deželak Junak
  • Kristjan (The story of a boy with quadriplegia who aspired to become a commentator)
  • ŠKL – Sports with a Thousand Faces

 

Awards for Outstanding Personalities in Film and Sports

The Festival has hosted renowned filmmakers, including: Mitja Okorn (director), Alin Bejin (director of films about Chuck Norris) and James Mallor.

This Year at the Festival there will be a rich program. The Opening Ceremony will include the presentation of awards to individuals who have contributed to the development of sports, film, and culture, as well as the promotion of Slovenia both at home and abroad.

Film screenings will take place in various categories, including new short formats for TikTok. Film presentations will be held not only in Rogaška Slatina but also on special days at two new locations: the Faculty of Sports in Ljubljana and the 2nd Gymnasium in Maribor.

Workshops and lectures will be organized on topics related to sports, culture and film.

 

There will also organize sports and entertainment events for all generationsMini Olympics with Olympic Day (details will be announced later).

A large 3×3 basketball tournament, open to all basketball enthusiasts, taking place on Friday, June 20. Winners will receive great prizes.

The “Closing evening” will feature the award ceremony for winning films and recognitions for our successful athletes who will be present.
