Ha una storia d’amore drammatica. Combatte in tutto il mondo fino al 1938 e non perde dal 1927.
Ma perde l’unico amore che abbia mai avuto, una ragazza di nome Jane. La sua vita privata è all’opposto della sua gloriosa carriera sportiva. Nel 1935 ritorna in Patria, in Bulgaria per vedere la madre e gli amici di infanzia e per aiutare i poveri e gli studenti con i suoi soldi. Organizza grandi combattimenti a Sofia e gli introiti vengono dati in beneficenza. Sfortunatamente nel 1939 viene colto da tubercolosi e muore nel suo paese natio. È il 27 marzo 1940 e Dan Koloff ha 47 anni.		Dan Koloff is the sports name of Bulgarian heavy wrestler – Doncho Kolev (1892-1940). This is a true story about his unbelievable life. A young, but strong boy of the age of 17, he arrives in the States. It is 1911. He works on railroad constructions, docks, plants. After a few years of hard earned pay, he manages to enter the world of wrestling.
After two years he becomes a big master of this game, thanks to his power, will and tenacity. He fights until 1938, all over the world and since 1927, he never loses. But he loses the only love he has ever had, a girls named Jane. His private life is antithetical to his glorious sports career. In 1935 he goes back to his homeland, Bulgaria, to see his mother and his childhood friends. To help all the poor people and students with his money. He organizes big fights in Sofia and he gives up income to charity. Unfortunately in 1939, he is caught by a dangerous disease tuberculosis and in a short time he dies in his birthplace. It is March 27th 1940. He is 47 years old.

Oggi vive la sua filosofia di vita: “La vita è come un mosaico, è fatta di ricordi belli e brutti. Quelli belli sono colorati e quei brutti ricordi sono colorati nel buio.Branko Simic is one of the greatest wrestlers that Yugoslavia ever had. He started wrestling when he was fourteen. Despite many injuries, he managed to achieve what many only dream of- Olympic gold medal in Tokyo 2020. Throughout his rich sports career, he participated at twelve Olympics, four times competed, and the rest as wrestler, trainer and referee. During Munich Olympic Games in 1972. we carried Olympic torch, passing through Yugoslavia from Romania. After retiring from sports, he worked at school as teacher and principal. His elderly life was shaped by sport injuries, more than 10 of them, so he decided to spend rest of his life in the retirement home. Nowadays, he lives his life philosophy: “Life is like mosaic, it consists of some good and some bad memories. Those good ones are colourful, and those bad memories are coloured in dark.”
