L'argomento doping è trattato da un punto di vista umano, con un'analisi psicologica delle frustrazioni e dei dolori intimi degli ex atleti, piuttosto che un approfondimento dei dettagli dei malanni fisici o dei lunghi processi, alcuni ancora in corso, che per anni hanno riempito le pagine di cronaca sportiva. A tale depicting their youth, trying to tell the life sensations of these athletes, from the years before the Olympic competitions, with the many medals they conquered, until the fall of Berlin wall and the following years, when they started having a more realistic vision of what they lived. Doping is treated by a human stand point, with a psychological analysis of the frustrations and intimate pains of the ex athletes, rather than enter in the details of physical misfortunes or long processes - some still pending-, that filled up the sport chronicles for many years. The soul sadness which the most part of these athletes live with today, and the feeling of being neglected by what today is a former nation, are well represented in the interviews even to minor character, who represented the pyramidal base of thousands of athletes outraged by the regime – in most cases they didn’t even took part to any event or top level competition, so to have at least the cheap comfort of a medal.

To remedy this situation, it was important to provide each of the endorsed events with a clearly identifiable symbol. The solution was to concentrate the International University Sports Federation’s image around the stars, and use the letter “U” to identify the Universiades and World Championships. Tra loro sui campi, dopo un’ultima sistemata al velo, anche molte ragazze: il problema più grande non sono i divieti religiosi, ma la mancanza di strutture sportive dove allenarsi. Le Palestiniadi nella storia non sono che il momento finale di un percorso che cerca di indagare più in profondità nelle storie di questi giovani, fatte di sogni e di possibilità negate.The “Palestiniadi” event took place for the first time in Lebanon: it is a sports event organized by the Italian Embassy’s Development Cooperation Office and with the collaboration of UNRWA (United Nations Relief and Works Agency). It was an important event for peace and integration among the young Palestinians living in the 12 refugee camps scattered around the country. For the first time they had the chance to meet each other and to play together like everyone else, in a real sports field. In fact, thanks to this project, 355 Palestinian and Lebanese youngsters had the chance to leave behind the shadows of a difficult daily life, at least for a few hours, while practicing some sports, challenging each other in the various tournaments going from football to ping-pong, races to basketball. After arranging their veils over their heads, even some girls joined them on the field: the true problem is not linked to religious vetoes, but to the lack of sports facilities where they could have the chance to carry out their training sessions. The Palestiniadi represents in the history the final moment of a journey that does its best to delve into the stories of these youngsters, made up of dreams and denied opportunities.
