L'obiettivo era di costruire un programma usando il tennis tavolo come veicolo per un cambiamento sociale per i bambini a rischio. Dopo un anno di preparazione, il programma Ping Pong Paz è stato lanciato nei bassifondi di Bogotà, Cartagena e Puerto Tejada. Il problema principale per i bambini è la mancanza di attività ricreative sotto la supervisione di un adulto. Tre allenatori del luogo sono stati assunti per tenere lezioni di tennis tavolo ai bambini due volte a settimana.In late 2008, the ITTF, together with the organization "Peace and Sport", visited Colombia and was received by the local NGO Colombianitos which assists nearly 4000 children in 7 locations. The objective was to setup a program using table tennis as the vehicle for social change for children at risk. After a year of preparation, the Ping Pong Paz program was launched in the slums in Bogotà, Cartagena and Puerto Tejada. The main problem of the children is the lack of worthwhile leisure activities under adult supervision. 3 local coaches have been hired to lead table tennis classes twice a week to the children.

Queste situazioni hanno toccato la cultura e la popolazione, in special modo i bambini e i giovani. La pratica delle arti marziali ha peggiorato la situazione essendo praticato per le strade da insegnanti non qualificati. Ping Pong Ba Dame è stato lanciato alla fine del 2010 e già lavorava per 6 Organizzazioni Non Governative locali. Solo una settimana più tardi era già avvenuta l'inaugurazione alla presenza dell'ex campione del mondo Peter Karlsson, un modello in Timor Est. Dopo l'inaugurazione, 5 bambini delle ONG e alcune persone con disabilità sono state portate al campo di allenamento misto, con attività che si concentrano sui giochi per l'integrazione sociale.Ping Pong Ba Dame is a project done in cooperation with ITTF and Peace Sport, where the sport is used as vehicle for the integration of the children from East Timor, a country affected by occupation, civil war and social crisis in the last decades. These situations affected the culture of the population and especially the children and the youngsters. The practice of martial arts worsened the situation as this sport is played just on the streets by non-certified teachers. Ping Pong Ba Dame was launched in the late 2010 and it already worked for 6 local partners NGOs. Just a week after, the inaugurations were done at the presence of the former World Champion Peter Karlsson, "role model" in East Timor. After the inaugurations, children from 5 NGOs and people with a disability were brought to a joint training camp, with activities focused on social integration.

Nittaku Dream Building in El Salvador is a project using table tennis as a vehicle to educate the local children providing a healthy option under adults‘ supervision for their spare time. Local coaches were trained and equipment provided. They will deliver table tennis classes weekly but also work every month on a different topic or value with the group. This education is done through chats, games, stories, inviting experts, etc. Every year there is a Festival planned including a competition and games among all centers.

The following week Ping Pong Paix was launched on the villages, a former World Champion, Peter Karlsson attended too. In March 2012, the ITTF World Championships were held in Dortmund, Germany. Two boys and two girls from the villages were invited to attend and take part of sport and cultural activities with local children and families. They also had the chance to watch the matches and meet the top stars. Their message is to be a symbol of peace for the people attending but also for those living on their villages.

They wrote a new chapter in the long history of "Diplomacy of Ping Pong" which dates back to 1971, when table tennis was one of the reasons to reopen diplomatic relations between the US and China.

L'organizzazione no profit di recente costituzione ha presentato attivamente come la solidarietà possa essere vissuta attraverso il tennis tavolo. Sei diverse posizioni con attività diverse hanno rappresentato i sei diversi programmi della Fondazione. Chi ha partecipato a tutte e sei le posizioni ha imparato come la Fondazione definisce la "Solidarietà", come lo sport e lo sviluppo siano collegati. Allo stesso tempo i partecipanti hanno intrapreso in tutto il mondo un breve viaggio attraverso le varie sedi dei progetti.The ITTF Foundation inaugurated its headquarters with an innovative TT4ALL – TT2GO approach. The recently established not-for-profit organization presented actively how solidarity can be lived through table tennis. Six different stations with activities represented the Foundation's six different programmes. Those who participated in all six stations learned how the Foundation defines "Solidarity”, how sport and development are related. At the same time participants undertook a world-wide short journey through the various project locations.

Con lo scoppio del Covid-19 e la corrispondente impossibilità di fare attività di gruppo, il concetto si è trasformato nella "Giornata mondiale del tennis tavolo 'a casa' ed è nato “lo scambio più lungo e folle di sempre”. Una chiara dimostrazione della comunità del tennis tavolo socialmente unita anche in tempi di distanza fisica.World Table Tennis Day is celebrated each year as a huge movement of table tennis events showing the sports as a popular, universal and inclusive one. The focus is on integration of disadvantaged groups in order to create a real sport for all. The outbreak of Covid-19 and the corresponding impossibility to do group activities, the concept changed into the “World Table Tennis ‘at-home’ Day and the “craziest longest table tennis rally ever” was born. A clear demonstration of the socially united table tennis community even in times of physical distancing.

Dima sogna di competere nel tennis tavolo ai Giochi Paralimpici 2020, incontrando però diversi ostacoli, con una comunità che la sostiene.Dima and Osama Juha met and fell in love in Syria, where they both trained as competitive para-athletes at a gym Osama owned. In 2017, they settled in Hamilton, Ontario as refugees. Through every challenge, Dima and Osama's love for each other and their family keeps their attitude positive, from their commitment to their sports — Dima in table tennis, Osama in weight lifting and basketball — to their passion to bring para-sports to people with disabilities. Dima dreams of competing in table tennis at the 2020 Paralympic Games, encountering several obstacles but also a supportive community that rises up to help her.

Ospitato dalla Fondazione YUVEDO senza fini di lucro con sede a Berlino, il torneo ha visto 135 atleti provenienti da 21 paesi vincere medaglie e campionati.Three days of actions and networking at Horst-Korber-Sportzentrum Berlin crowned many Parkinson’s World champions and left life-long friendships between players across continents. Hosted by the Berlin-based not-for-profit YUVEDO Foundation, the tournament saw 135 athletes from 21 countries pursuing medals and companionships.

Partecipando agli allenamenti di ping pong, i partecipanti al progetto EduDrive hanno aumentato la fiducia in se stessi, migliorato le interazioni sociali ed il rendimento scolastico.EduDrive, the Dream Building Fund initiative in Ghana has proven that table tennis is a strong motivator to keep children in school. By taking part in the table tennis training, EduDrive project participants have reported a boost in confidence, as well as better social interactions, on top of improving academic performance.

Il festival ha incluso i Campionati Mondiali di Tennistavolo per il Parkinson, i Campionati Mondiali di Tennistavolo per l'Alzheimer e il Congresso Mondiale di Tennistavolo per la Salute. Durante quei 5 giorni, la comunità mondiale delle persone affette da Parkinson e Alzheimer ha condiviso amicizie, ricordi ed esperienze attraverso il tennistavolo. The inaugural World Table Tennis for Health Festival (WTT4HF) was held in Crete, Greece. The Festival included World Parkinson’s Table Tennis Championships, World Alzheimer’s Table Tennis Championships, and World Table Tennis for Health Congress. It witnessed the worldwide community of people affected by Parkinson's and Alzheimer's share their friendships, memories, and experiences through table tennis during those 5 days.
