Synopsis

“Grass, sweat, leather” is a film based on a play dedicated to the history of Bologna Football Club. Actors interpret the personal life of the most representative players of the Bologna sports clubs. Through the events that happened in the last century, the film shows the triumphs and defeats of football team, the first Italian Club to gain international triumphs, back in the Thirties. Showing the history of Bologna Football Club is a fun way to talk about the events experienced by the city, ravaged by two world wars and dramatic events, like the massacre of the station in 1980. The film ends with evocative images, with the faces of the protagonists of team alternating to citizens of Bologna fans, seemingly anonymous, actually tied inextricably to the protagonists in the field, linked by the love for the sport, so representative for their city.
