With the players coached by the famous Nereo Rocco, he is really appreciated for his play, his dribblings and goals. Gigi was not just a football player; he was much, much more. He drew the jersey he played with,he walked in Como carrying a chicken on a leash, he pretended to be a journalist and asked people what the thought about Meroni. He listened to Beatles and jazz music, he painted pictures, he read books and wrote poetry. He lived in the “Piazza Vittorio attic” with Cristiana, the “beaty among beauties” of fun-fair, of which he madly felt in love. He died tragically on October 15th, 1967, a Sunday in which his “Toro” won for 4 to 2 on Sampdoria.
