Svetlana Zhurova is an ordinary girl from the small village of Pavlovo-on-Neva who became the fastest speed skater in the world. Her journey to Olympic gold has been long and tough. Yet she didn’t give in and was rewarded for her persistence during Olympic Games 2006 in Turin when she became the Olympic champion in speed skating at 500 meters.
