Prof. Franco Ascani President of FICTS – Federation Internationale Cinema Television Sportifs (joined with 114 Countries) recognized by the International Olympic Committee (IOC) for which it promotes the values of sports through the footages, has participated in Lausanne (Switzerland) to a several meetings with representatives of the IOC and, in particular, with the Director of the IOC Department of “Culture and Heritage of the Olympic” Dr. Francis Gabet.

Prof. Ascani has shown the programs of the international activities of the Federation that aim to exploit the sport footages universal language and the extraordinary potential of television, the Internet and new media (social networks, web tv and Portable Device).

During the meetings has been officially approved the final calendar of “SPORT E-MOTIONS 2016 – World FICTS Challenge (WFC)” Worldwide Championship of Television, Cinema, Communication, New Media and Sports Culture (articulated into 19 Festivals in the 5 Continents), the main presentation mean that FICTS used for the promotion and the spread of Olympic values ​​and sport culture.

The 19 Festival of the “World FICTS Challenge” scheduled in 2016 are: Kathmandu (Nepal) 20 to 21 February, Los Angeles (USA) 14 to 17 April, Barcelona (Spain) 3 to 7 May, Kazan (Rep. Of Tatarstan – Russia) 12 to 15 May, Rio de Janeiro (Brazil – Cinefoot) 19 to 24 May, Tehran (I.R. Iran) May 29 – June 1, Hanoi (Vietnam) 20 to 23 June, Buenos Aires (Argentina) 14 to 17 July, Kampala (Uganda) 20 to 22 July, Beijing (China) 8 to 15 August, Rio de Janeiro (Brazil – FICTS for Rio 2016) 27 July to 25 September, Samara (Russia) 6 to 10 September, Spoleto (Italy) 10 – 18 September, Tashkent (Uzbekistan) 18 to 21 September, Lipetsk (Russia) 27 to 30 September, Sophia Antipolis (Nice – France) 14 to 16 October, Liberec (Czech Rep.) 2 to 4 October, Brussels (Belgium) 3 – 6 October, Milan (Italy) 15 to 20 November.

The first Festival that opens the International Circuit will be held in Kathmandu, the capital and largest municipality of Nepal, that will host – on 20 – 21 February – the second edition of the “Nepal International Sports FICTS Film Festival”. The event, directed by Surya Thapaliya, is organized by the Nepal Tourism Board, National Sports Council, Nepal Sports Foundation in collaboration with FICTS and Nepalese Olympic Committee. The Festival aims to bring the general public in contact with sports-oriented audiovisual contents and the values that they represent and also envisions establishing a tradition of film festivals completely dedicated to sports which is the combination of art, passion, entertainment and excitement.
