The General Elective Assembly of FICTS – Fédération Internationale Cinéma Télévision Sportifs held in Treviso-Cortina on 8 – 9 June – in addition to electing the new Institutional Bodies – reconfirmed Prof. Franco Ascani as President for the next four-year period 2024-2027 (www.sportmoviestv.com/en/prof-ascani-elected-international-ficts-president/) and defined the dates of the special edition of the “Forty years” of “SPORT MOVIES & TV – MILANO INTERNATIONAL FICTS FEST” Final of 20 Festivals (on 5 Continents) of the “World FICTS Challenge” scheduled in Milan (Italy) from 7 to 11 November.

The event will feature large international participation (the list of prestigious guests will be communicated after the closing of the submissions) and will be articulated into Projections selected from 1,233 productions from the 130 Countries affiliated to FICTS (including 25 world premieres and exclusive Olympic images, etc.), Meetings, Workshops, Exhibitions, Press Conferences, Related Events, the Paralympic Movies & Tv Fest and Awards for national and international guests.

The “Ragazzi…in gamba” day is scheduled with the awarding of the students who participated in the “TROFEI DI MILANO 2023 – Education, Culture and Sport for Young People” which – in collaboration with the Milano Cortina 2026 Foundation – recorded the participation of 42,000 students from 88 schools (32,000 from 59 schools in Milan and 10,130 young people of 29 schools from Veneto Region) establishing – in 60 years – the record of over three and a half million students (in 2023, 52% of girls).

“SPORT MOVIES & TV 2023” is the “Festival of Olympic footages with a “special showcase” dedicated to the Olympics through the best footages of all time (with interactive meetings) towards Paris 2024 and Milano Cortina 2026 with the thrilling performances of 985 Champions on screen.

Stories of sport (47 sports), champions, great personalities of the present and the past, memorable feats, hidden stories for five days in different locations with “Opening Ceremony” (November 7 – 5.30 pm) and “Awards Ceremony” (11 November – 5.30 pm) at the Grande Auditorium Testori Palazzo Lombardia (Piazza Città di Lombardia, 1).

Among the premiere scheduled at “SPORT MOVIES & TV 2023”, “Enock-tough love” (New Tales Filmbyen – Denmark) an engaging story about the struggle of an elite sportsman to make his dream come true. Winning the title of European super lightweight boxing champion with “blood, sweat and tears”: Denmark’s great boxing hope, Enock Mwandila Poulsen.

The event is organized by FICTS – Federation Internationale Cinema Television Sportifs, the only Federation of the cinematographic sector recognized by the IOC (International Olympic Committee) for which it carries out its ethical, cultural and artistic function of the Sports Movement through the effective use of the power of sports footages with television, cinema and new media.
