Barcelona will host the 12th edition of “BCN Sports Film – Barcelona International FICTS Festival 2022” from February 14-20.
The edition – included in the “World FICTS Challenge” – has been carried out at the press conference that has taken place virtually. The event was chaired by David Escudé, President of the Fundació Barcelona Olímpica and councilor of Sports of the Ajuntament de Barcelona accompanied by Agustí Argelich, director of the BCN Sports Film Festival and Maribel Martínez de Murguía, official Jury of the festival and Olympic champion in Barcelona’92 with the field hockey team.
Through the official website www.bcnsportsfilm.org/programacio it can free access the ticket reservation, but it is necessary to request the ticket in order to be able to control the capacity.

On Wednesday, February 16 at 5 pm, the Museu Olímpic i de l’Esport Joan Antoni Samaranch will host the session Barcelona’92, “Pioneers of gold”, where the first two women’s Olympic gold medals for the Spanish delegation will be remembered.
Thirty years ago, Barcelona experienced one of its best sporting moments in history with the celebration of the 1992 Olympic Games. An organizational success that transformed Barcelona to host the Olympic Games, making it shine internationally.
The mountain of Montjuic, where the Museu Olímpic i de l’Esport Joan Antoni Samaranch is located, was the heart of the Olympic Games and will shine again with 7 of the 17 total sessions that will make up the 12th edition of the BCN Sports Film Festival.
Of all of them, Barcelona ’92, “Pioneers of Gold” will take place on Wednesday, February 16 at 5pm. A session that aims to remember and recall the history of the first two women’s Olympic gold medals for the Spanish delegation: the individual one, by judoka Miriam Blasco and the team medal, that of the women’s field field hockey team (this one has not yet been equaled again).
During this session we will have the presence of some of the players of the team; among them, Mercedes Cohen (former captain of the national team), Eli Margall (who scored the goal of the final), Anna Maiques or Maribel Martínez de Murguía.
Two productions that not only recreate the emotion and passion with which the Olympic Games were lived 30 years ago, but also bring us closer to the deepest and truest stories of the athletes who were part of it.

Thea Marti: Ukrainian filmmaker based in Rome and Sevilla, founder of the audiovisual startup PhD, a project included among the 100 most creative awards in the region of Lazio, Italy, in 2018. Her international filmography includes more than 32 projects including several short films, documentaries, video art and music videos.
Ramon Alaró is an audiovisual technician with a passion for
mountaineering and sports documentaries. In 1976 he started his path as a filmmaker shooting his first documentary in super-8. Since that first experience he has continued shooting following the evolution of the audiovisual field. He was a member of the Filmets Badalona Film Festival team and is currently the director of CurtÀneu, the international short film festival in Les Valls d’Àneu, in Pallars Sobirà.
Maribel Martínez de Murguía was an Olympic gold medalist in Barcelona’92 and European runner-up in Amsterdam’95 with the Spanish field hockey team. She has played 119 times internationally 
and was awarded the Spanish national sports prize Copa Barón de Güell in 1992 with the rest of her Olympic teammates.
During her professional career, she was a member of the coaching staff of the women’s national team, which achieved the 4th position in the 2000 Sydney Olympics, and was European champion as an assistant field hockey coach with the Real Club de Polo of Barcelona in 2004. Since 2000 she has been involved in the development of talent in different types of organisations, connecting high-performance sport and management as a motivational speaker and helping to facilitate group and individual change processes.
José Luis Montesinos is a director, screenwriter, filmmaker and
engineer. He has received several awards for his productions, including more than 135 for his short film The Same Old Story. His short film The Runner won a Goya award, a Gaudí award and many other national and international prizes. In 2020 he premiered his first feature film, Prey, which has been awarded in several fantastic genre film festivals.
Lídia Flaqué holds a degree in Education Sciences and is a former 
top-level swimmer. She also worked as a sports management technician at the Barcelona City Council.
Today, she is the general secretary of the Catalan Swimming Federation and holds a managerial position at the Royal Spanish Swimming Federation. Passionate about cinema, she regularly attends festivals such as the Berlin and Venice Biennale and the Sitges Film Festival.
