The submissions to the eight edition of “BCN Sports Film 2017 – Barcelona International FICTS Festival” (https://www.bcnsportsfilm.org) have broken all records: more than 400 films from over 40 countries aspired to take part in the Official Section.

Barcelona (Spain), from May 8th to 12th, 2017, will be the seat of the event organized – in the framework of the Worldwide Championship of Cinema, Sport and Television “World FICTS Challenge” – by the “Fundacio Olympic Barcelona” directed by Dr Juli Pernas Lopez (director of Museu Olímpic i de l’Esport Joan Antoni Samaranch) in collaboration with “Nikita Distribution”, with support of FICTS and the Barcelona City Council (https://www.bcnsportsfilm.org/en/rules/).

The majority of films selected to take part in the 8th Annual BCN Sports Film have been awarded prizes or were selected for International Festivals such as: the International Festival of Sant Sebastian; the Festival International du Court Métrage de Clermont-Ferrand; the Bilbao Mendi Film Festival, the Festival International du Film d’Animation in Annecy; the Cannes Film Festival; the Berlinale; the OffsideFest, the Festival Tous Courts in Aix-en-Provence; the Off Courts in Trouville, the Festival Regard in Quebec or Sport Movies & TV, amongst others.

During the event is scheduled a session dedicated to the 25th Anniversary of the Olympic Games Barcelona 92 at the attendance of some Olympic champions of all time, including judoka Miriam Blasco first gold medal in the Spanish Olympic history (Barcelona ’92).

The Official Programme of the 2017 BCN Sports Film Festival will include some seventy of these entries. The countdown has started!
