Mrs Marta Carranza, President of the Fundació Barcelona Olímpica and Sports Commissioner of the Barcelona City Council, officially showed to the media – at the “Sala Àmbit Cultural – El Corte Inglés – Portal de l’Àngel”, the 7th edition of the BCN Sports Film – Barcelona International FICTS Festival(www.bcnsportsfilm.org) scheduled in Barcelona (Spain) from 3 to 7 May 2016. The Festival is organized in the framework of the Worldwide Championship of Cinema, Sport and Television “World FICTS Challenge” by the “Fundacio Olympic Barcelona” directed by Dr Juli Pernas Lopez (director of Museu Olímpic i de l’Esport Joan Antoni Samaranch) with support of FICTS – Federation Internationale Cinema Television Sportifs and in collaboration with the Ayuntament de Barcelona Institut Barcelona Esport, the Spanish Olympic Committee and Nikita Distribution.

The “Barcelona International FICTS Festival” will be held in different venues. The “Joan-Antoni Samaranch Olympic and Sports Museum” (managed by the Barcelona Olympic Foundation) and located at the heart of the Parc de Montjuïc, is the nerve centre will host the “Opening Ceremony” on May 3rd (at 7 p.m.). The “Corte Inglés” (one of the Festival’s leading patrons for the seventh year running) will be screening a series of especially selected competing films at their Auditorium, “Sala Àmbit Cultural” on the sixth floor of their store in Portal de l’Àngel. The “Cinemas at Can Castellet” will host matinée for school children and afternoon sessions for the general public while the “Ateneu Barcelonès” will host, on 5th May, a session of movies dedicated to Brazilians’ passion for sport. The “Auditorium of Sant Martí de Provençals” will host a debate after the projection of one of the films competing in the Festival. The “Centre Cívic Ateneu Fort Pienc” will host a cine-forum after the projection of one of the films and, on the 12th May, there will be showing the “Chariots of Fire” movie followed by a debate. The “Award Ceremony” will be held at “J.A. Samaranch Olympic and Sports Museum” on 7 May (at 7 p.m.): FICTS President Prof. Franco Ascani will attend to the Ceremony and he will award Mrs Marta Carranza with “FICTS Guirlande d’Honneur”. The Festival will officially kick off on May 3rd at the “Quatre Camins penitentiary” with the projection of “Panorama”. The film will be introduced to the inmates by the producer and director Jon Herranz and Gerard Peris (Namuss Films) of the multi-honoured documentary.

In the “2016 Olympic Year” the “J.A. Samaranch Olympic and Sports Museum” will host a temporary Exhibition “3,2,1…Rio” (free entrance every day from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.) displaying the changes the Brazilian metropolis copes with as it strives to be the venue for this event. Jordi Sants former waterpolo’s player, Olympic medalist in Barcelona 1992 and Atlanta 1996 is the Ambassador of the seventh edition of the Festival directed by Agustí Algelich.

84 will be the sports productions including spot, documentaries, fictions, cartoons, etc. coming from 42 Countries (among which Argentina, Canada, Finland, Italy, Norway, Russia, U.K., US, etc.) that will be projected at the BCN Sports Film Festival. There will also be scheduled the “Love Sport” sessions for over-eighteens and will be screening “Sport and Values” (at the cinemas at Can Castellet in Sant Boi) films highlight the role of women in sports, sports in underdeveloped countries and the importance of knowing how to win and lose. Dr Carlo Bozzali, President of International Jury of the Final of “World FICTS Challenge 2016” will join the Festival too.

The Jury of the “Barcelona International FICTS Festival” composed by Sergi Agusti (photographer, produces documentaries and cultural events), Daniel Arrébola (graduated from the Autonomous University of Barcelona with a degree in journalism specializing in Audiovisual, Radio and Event Production ITES SA.), Miguel Ángel C. Buttini (owner of Salto de Eje PC, director, scriptwriter and producer), Marta Clari (Managing Director of the Barcelona Cultural Institute) and Sandrine Ferraro (French-Spanish-Italian actress and screenwriter) that will choose the winners of the Festival that will be automatically admitted to “Sport Movies & Tv 2016 – Milano International FICTS Fest” the Final scheduled in Milano (Italy) from 16 to 21 November.
