Beatrice Vio a record, she is already a European and worldwide champion in the paralympic fencing. At her first competition at the Paralympic Games  (19 year old) – underway in Rio de Janeiro – she won the gold medal in women’s foil “B category”.  Honor of the “Italian Paralympic Award” in 2014 from Paralympic Italian Committee  (awarded to the best Italian athletes), Beatrice Vio is a movie’s protagonist, “The long way to Rio”, a documentary about her own life produced by “Repubblica TV” for “Made in Italy (directed by Sonny Anzellotti – author Franesco Faisolo). This video will take part of the “SPORT MOVIES & TV 2016 – 34th Milano International FICTS Fest” (www.sportmoviestv.com) competition, Final of 18 Festivals (around the 5 Continents) of the “SPORT E-MOTIONS World FICTS Challenge” World Championship of Television, Cinema, Communication and Sport Culture scheduled in Milano (Italy) from 16 to 21 November.

The event – under the slogan “FICTS Is Culture through sport” – is organized by FICTS – Federation Internationale Cinema Television Sportifs, joined with 114 Countries (chaired by Prof. Franco Ascani, IOC Member for Culture and Olympic Heritage Commission) recognized by the International Olympic Committee for which it promotes the values of sport through footages. “The long way to Rio”, is about a life of an amazing girl that loves sport and hangs out with her friends. She is ironic and straight talking: “before sleeping I charge my Smartphone, my iPad and. My hand!”. In 2008 Beatrice’s life completely changed due to a illness but luckily she react and found out  the she still fence even in wheelchair: her journey never stops and she conquers a golden medal at her first Games. The documentary will be shown on 20th November at “Sport Movies & Tv 2016” in the sixteenth-century Palazzo Giureconsulti, in the heart of Milan (Piazza Mercanti 2 – Piazza Duomo), the “core business” of the event. The event – articulated into 150 Projections (among which 30 worldwide and European premieres, etc.), 4 Exhibitions, 8 Meetings, 2 Workshop, , 2 Press Conferences, 7 side events about sport and cultureand it will be distributed in different locations in the city in collaboration with sports, academics and cultural organizations. It will be 23 awards of International guests in collaboration with BMW Milano and with Sergio Bonelli Editore founder of  the namesake publisher house, leader of comics market in the occasion of 30 years of “Dylan Dog”. Beatrice Vio, Olympic and Paralympic medals, top brass of International Olympic Committee and Worldwide Sport are invited to participate at “Sport Movies & Tv 2016”.

“Sport Movies & Tv 2016”, dedicated to Bud Spenser and Pietro Mannea, it will be a spot of privilege meeting for 5000/6000 operators and expert of the sector coming from all over the world: author, media Worldwide Network (including representatives of the 1,172 sports television channels of the 5 Continents), production houses, major, producer, radio, filmmakers, Olympic Committees and Sports Federations, advertising and integrated communication agencies that will illustrate the universe of television and the sports cinema through documentaries, spots, reportage, fiction, cartoon, etc. in one of the 7 competitive Section. Wednesday November 16th (6 p.m.) will take place the “Opening Ceremony” at Palazzo Giureconsulti (Piazza Mercanti, 2 – Milan) with the “Giurlande d’Honneur” award – the highest honor of FICTS – to the Sport, TV Cinema and Journalism figures that ”have been played an important role  through  promotion of sports and cultural and ethical values of sport”. Before the open ceremony there will be the inauguration of “ Art an Movement” exhibition (sponsor by Ethniki Insurance Company). Mina Papatheodorou-Valyraki, “IOC Sports Artist of the Year 2014” author of the posters and stamps of the “Olympic Games Athens 2004”, will be exhibit her artworks of visual art. Monday  November 21st (6 p.m.) will took place the “Award Ceremony” at Palazzo Lombardia (Piazza Città di Lombardia 1 – Via Melchiorre Gioia 37) in occasion of “World  Television Day”.
