The FICTS President Prof. Franco Ascani will officially open the 13th edition of the “Beijing International FICTS Festival” (during “Beijing International Sports Film Week”), which will be held in Beijing (China) from August 10th to 14th, in the framework of the World Championships of Cinema and Sports Television “World FICTS Challenge”. The event is organized by the BODA – Beijing Olympic Development Association (http://www.sportsfilm.org/) whose purpose is to promote the development of sport films and Olympic ideals and the transmission of Olympic legacy in collaboration with FICTS – Fédération Internationale Cinema Télévision Sportifs. The “Beijing International Sports Film Week” – whose theme is “Winter Olympic Dream with Sports Emotions”, is articulated into Projections, Exhibitions, Awards, Meetings (including one on world sport cinema). FICTS, as part of the sports promotion campaign, is featured with 50 projections (including 15 on winter sports) coming from 30 countries. The best works chosen by the Jury will take part in “Sport Movies & Tv 2017” scheduled in Milan (Italy) from November 15th to 20th. There are 60 works from 11 Countries, competing for “Beijing International Sports Film Week” divided into four Sections including the “Winter sports” theme created to further promote Beijing’s next venue of the 2022 Winter Olympic Games.
During his stay in Beijing, Prof. Ascani will meet qualified Chinese sport Authorities and local Institutions including BODA V. President Jiang Xiaoyu, delegations of the BOCOG (2022 Beijing Olympic Winter Games Organizing Committee) and Chinese Olympic Committee.
