The Executive Committee of FICTS – Federation Internationale Cinema Television Sportifs (chaired by Prof. Franco Ascani Member of IOC Commission for “Culture and Olympic Heritage”) recognized by the International Olympic Committee for which it promotes the values of sports through the images in the 114 Member Countries, has approved the 2016 Calendar of the 20 festivals of the “World FICTS Challenge (WFC)” Worldwide Championship of Television, Cinema, Communication and Sports Culture.

The “World FICTS Challenge” is the main presentation where FICTS is used for the promotion and spread of Olympic values ​​and sport culture, a competition for movies and television productions from 5 Continents, scheduled in 20 phases including Worldwide Final. Through the “World FICTS Challenge”, Federation promotes all around the world, the quality of sports images and the cooperation of those who work creatively in sports broadcasters and sport cinema.

The “World FICTS Challenge” supports the main points of the FICTS’s mission among which the the knowledge and diffusion of sport movies that, in different languages and different production forms, contribute to the development of artistic and cultural trends in TV and movies world. FICTS, through the “World FICTS Challenge” promotes the social and cultural meaning of the Olympic and Paralympic Games, blending sport with culture, with the intent to spread a life philosophy, based on educational values and the respect of universal ethical principles of sports and Olympism. The Federation encourages young people to use their creativity to become creators and consumers of sports contents, including Olympic images, through modern technologies and social media. Furthermore, it  supports the interaction and sharing of those contents. Therefore FICTS spreads the development of the Olympic Values and the culture of sports through the actual use of sports images.
