Prof. Franco Ascani President of FICTS – Federation Internationale Cinema Television Sportifs (joined with 116 Countries) recognized by the International Olympic Committee (IOC) for which it promotes the values of sports through the footages, has participated in Lausanne (Switzerland) to a several meetings with representatives of the IOC. During the meetings has been officially approved the final calendar of “World FICTS Challenge 2017” Worldwide Championship of Television, Cinema, Communication, New Media and Sports Culture (articulated into 16 Festivals in the 5 Continents), the main presentation mean that FICTS used for the promotion and the spread of Olympic values ​​and sport culture. The 16 Festival of the “World FICTS Challenge” scheduled in 2017 are: Pokhara (Nepal) February 20 to 22, Rotterdam (Netherlands) 6 to 8 April, Barcelona (Spain) 8 to 12 May, Rio de Janeiro (Brazil – Cinefoot) 19 to 24 May, Oaxaca (Mexico) 14 – 18 June, Zlatibor (Serbia) 30 June – 4 July, Kampala (Uganda) 18 – 20 July, Colombo (Sri Lanka) 1 – 3 September, Teheran (I. R. Iran) 4 – 7 September, Tashkent (Uzbekistan) 18 – 21 September, Cote d’Azur (France) 26 – 28 September, Lipetsk (Russia) 26 – 29 September, Liberec (Czech Rep.) 4 – 7 October, Beijing (China) 8 – 15 October.

Prof. Ascani has shown the programs of the international activities of the Federation that aim to exploit the sport footages universal language and the extraordinary potential of television, the Internet and new media (social networks, web tv and Portable Device).

Milan (Italy) – from 15 to 20 November – will host “Sport Movies & Tv 2017” at the end of 16 Festivals (in the 5 Continents) of the “World FICTS Challenge” Worldwide Championship of Cinema, Television and Sport Culture. Six days of Cinema, Television and Sport Culture. It’s a privileged meeting place for operators and industry experts from around the world including Networks, media, broadcastings, houses of productions, producers, directors, filmmakers, Olympic Committees, advertising and integrated communication agencies, that will show the whole universe of cinema and sport television through spot, reportages, fiction, cartoon, etc. in 8 competitive Sections

The first Festival that opens the International Circuit will be held in Pokhara, the second city of Nepal – from February 20th – 22nd – the third edition of the “Nepal International FICTS Festival”. The event is organized – in framework of the “World FICTS Challenge” Worldwide Championship of Cinema and Sport Television – by the Nepal Tourism Board, National Sports Council, Nepal Sports Foundation in collaboration with FICTS. The Festival aims to bring the general public in contact with sports-oriented audiovisual contents and the values that they represent and also envisions establishing a tradition of film festivals completely dedicated to sports which is the combination of art, passion, entertainment and excitement. The Festival, directed by Surya Thapaliya, will be articulated in Projections, meeting and Round Table.
