FICTS – Federation Internationale Cinema Television Sportifs (joined with 130 Countries – www.ficts.com), is the only Federation of the field recognized by the IOC – International Olympic Committee for which it promotes the sports values and the socio-cultural significance of Olympic and Paralympic Games, actively participated in the “Olympic Day” on June 23.

FICTS will organize several activities aimed to the culture of Olympism in the same time in 20 seats of the Festival of the “World FICS Challenge”: Lisbon (Portugal), Rotterdam (Netherlands), Barcelona (Spain), Cote d’Azur (France), Zlatibor (Serbia), Sarajevo (Bosnia), Liberec (Czech Rep.), Pristina (Kosovo), Tehran (I. R. Iran), Nagano (Japan), Beijing (China), Tashkent (Uzbekistan), Kampala (Uganda), Nairobi (Kenya), Rio de Janeiro (Brazil), Rogaška Slatina (Slovenia), Kingston (Jamaica), Buenos Aires (Argentina). There will be scheduled, in each seat of “World FICTS Challenge”, Projection of videos, Exhibition, Conferences, Meetings, etc. in order to raise, the young people to the respect for universal ethical principles or to inspire a philosophy of life that combines sport, culture and education in a “global movement at the humanity’s service” as declared FICTS President Prof. Franco Ascani Member of IOC Commission for Culture and Olympic Heritage.

Milan (Italy), headquarters of Federation, will host Exhibitions, projection of videos, etc. with exclusive footages of the Olympic and Paralympic Games of all time at the headquarters (Via Piranesi, 46) of the Italian National Olympic Committee – Lombardy Region (which patronaged the event) as part of the FICTS Project “Olympic Images Day: Peace, Truce, Inclusion and Equality” with the aim to spread the educational and training values of the Olympic and Paralympic Movement through footages, in order to inspire a philosophy of life that combines sport, culture and education as well as to promote, among young people, the Olympism and the Olympic Culture towards Milano-Cortina 2026.

The program includes:

  1. At 10.30 a.m.: inauguration of the exhibition “1956-2022: Ice and snow for the Games”. An “interactive” photographic journey with the most beautiful images of the Winter Olympic Games from Cortina 1956 to Beijing 2022 (40 panels, 3 installations), in addition to the posters of Beijing 2022.
  2. From 10.30 a.m. to 4 p.m.: a wide selection of films and videos screened throughout the day, including “Peace through Sport”, “Sports in North Korea”, “1968 – Sport & Revolution”, “Tokyo 2020 Summer og”, “Best of Tokyo”, “Taking Refuge” and Olympic footages (documentaries, short films, feature films, etc.) on the topic of Peace, Olympic Truce, Inclusion and Equality, etc. A unique opportunity to experience and relive the moments that tell the deeds of the Protagonists, the Ceremonies, the emotional aspects, team sports, the Paralympic Games, etc.
  3. From 4 to 7 pm: meetings on Olympism, speeches, editorial presentations, etc. with the aim of strengthening the educational potential of the Games using footages, involving all those who promote sport in the area and thus create a positive driving force in view of the Milano-Cortina 2026 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games.

Furthermore, for the occasion – from 20 to 26 June – it will be possible to have free access to the 20.693 Olympic videos of the FICTS SPORTMOVIESTV.COM Platform (http://www.sportmoviestv.net/ accesso-catalogo-gratis/), the first Digital Community of Information and Sports Culture with Cinema and TV, with catalogued and easily accessible contents on which the Calendar of all the events of the next quarter is also published.
