Planning for the Hollywood film about Jamie Vardy’s life will progress next week with screenwriter Adrian Butchart due in the UK for talks and research about the Leicester striker’s remarkable rise. Butchart – who penned the hit films “Goal!” – will spend time with Vardy and those closest to him, and visit Stocksbridge Park Steels and the medical splits factory where the England international worked before joining Fleetwood Town as a full-time professional.

Butchart would also like to speak to England manager Roy Hodgson and former Leicester boss Nigel Pearson, the man who took a chance on Vardy by bringing him to the King Power Stadium. The film will be invited to participate in “Sport Movies & Tv 2016” scheduled in Milano from 15 to 20 November 2016.
