KAZAN (REP. OF TATARSTAN - RUSSIA) CAPITAL OF SPORT AT WORLDWIDE LEVEL: 5-10 AUGUST

It was officially presented in Kazan (Rep. of Tatarstan – Russia) the “33^rd WORLDWIDE FINAL OF WORLD FICTS CHALLENGE 2015” by Khalil Shaykhutdinov First Deputy Minister of Sport and Youth of the Republic of Tatarstan, Prof. Franco Ascani FICTS President (Federation Internationale Cinema Television Sportifs) and Diana Safarova General Manager of the FICTS Worldwide Championship who highlighted the precious meaning of the international events for young people.

From 5 to 10 August Kazan will host – for the first time in Russia – the Worldwide Final of 16 Festivals (in 5 Continents with 113 Member Countries) of the “World FICTS Challenge”, Worldwide Championship of Sports Cinema and Television in conjunction with World Swimming Championships that the capital of the Republic of Tatarstan will host after the Universiade 2013, the Fencing World Championship 2014 and will be the a seat of the FIFA World Cup Russia 2018.

“Kazan Worldwide Final of World FICTS Challenge 2015” will be articulated – in addition to imposing Opening and Closing Ceremonies – in 100 Projections, 4 Meetings, 4 Exhibitions, 5 Side Events, 2 Workshops, the International Forum “Tv Sport Emotions” and Awards of prestigious international guests of television, sports and cinema. The event will involved world networks, production companies, sports champions, industry experts.

During the Press Conference Prof. Ascani declared: “The aim of the Worldwide Final is to promote the “Culture through sport”. Kazan is a great example for the promotion of sports values and Olympism”.

At the end of the Press Conference the FICTS President Prof. Franco Ascani and the First Deputy Minister of Youth and Sport Khalil Shaykhutdinov signed the “Memorandum of Understanding” between FICTS, the Russian Federation and the Ministry of Sport and Youth of the Republic of Tatarstan.

The decision to assign the Final to Kazan had been taken by the FICTS General Assembly on 4^th and 5^th December 2014 in Milan. The foundations were laid during Prof. Franco Ascani’s visit in Kazan in July when he met President of the Republic of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov who showed interest in hosting an international event about sports culture in Kazan.
