Milano will be the sole Candidate for host the 132nd IOC Session in September 2019. The IOC – that will officially assign the event during the Session held in Lima on September 17th – will appoint the Evaluation Commission that will visit Milano on May 23rd and 24th.

Milan was among in contention with the other cities as Brussels, Krakow, Budapest, Istanbul, New Delhi and a US city. The event involves the participation of IOC members, Presidents and Secretaries of International Sports Federations, representatives of the candidate cities to host the next Olympic Games and journalists. The location chosen to host the event is the Mico-Milan Congress that can accommodate up to 18 thousand people. The “Opening Ceremony” will take place at the Teatro alla Scala.

Milan’s candidacy to host the IOC Session in 2019, as submitted by the President of CONI Dott. Giovanni Malagò, may be a prelude to the candidacy of Milan and Lombardy for the Olympic Games in 2028.
