In the year of the FIFA World Cup Russia 2018 (“Opening Ceremony” on Thursday, June 14th at Luzhniki Stadium in Moscow before match Russia-Saudi Arabia), football will have the role of protagonist at “SPORT MOVIES & TV 2018 – 36th MILANO INTERNATIONAL FICTS FEST” (www.sportmoviestv.com) Final of 16 Festivals (around the 5 Continents) of the “World FICTS ChallengeWorld Championship of Television, Cinema, Communication and Sport Culture scheduled in Milano (Italy), from 14th to 19th November.

FICTS – Federation Internationale Cinema Television Sportifs, (chaired by Prof. Franco Ascani, member of IOC Culture and Olympic Heritage Commission) recognized by the International Olympic Committee for which it promotes the values of sport through footages in the 116 Countries, organization that is the head of the event, takes actively the field – in conjunction with the FIFA World Cup – with special events, with seminars, projections, performances in the 16 venues of Festival of the “World FICTS Challenge”. In Rio de Janeiro (Brazil), in the framework of the “Cinefoot – International Football FICTS Festival” (www.cinefoot.org), the itinerant film Festival whose main theme is football will be scheduled the celebration of 60’s years of the conquest of the first World Cup by Brazil in Sweden in 1958 as well as exhibitions, debates and projections including “Idol” by Ricardo Calvet, about the life of the footballer Nilton Santos among the architects of the conquest of the first World Cup. Projections, special events connected to the World Cup are also scheduled in other venues: Barcelona (Spain), Beijing (China), Pokhara (Nepal), Tashkent (Uzbekistan), Rotterdam (Netherlands), Lipetsk (Russia), Kampala (Uganda), Liberec (Czech Republic), Cote d’Azur (France), Zlatibor (Serbia), Tehran (I.R. Iran), Sao Paulo (Brazil), Kingston (Jamaica), Buenos Aires (Argentina).

Milano, in the framework of “Sport Movies & Tv 2018” from November 14th – 19th, will be held the International Festival “Movies & Tv Football” consisting of television and productions dedicated to football: fiction, documentaries, shorts, stories of champions, broadcasts and tv programs, etc. whose main theme is football in the various applications, for television, for cinema, for new technological platforms. Famous international football champions have participated and have been awarded with the “Guirlande d’Honneur” (who joined the “FICTS Hall of Fame”) in the past editions of “Sport Movies & Tv”: “O Rey” Pelè in 2004 at the presentation – in European premiere – of the film “Eternal Pelè”, the “Golden Balls” Johan Cruijff, Gianni Rivera, Fabio Cannavaro, Hristo Stoičkov, Andriy Shevchenko, the 2006 world champion trainer Marcello Lippi, the Inter F.C. for the “five titles” in 2010.

The seventeenth-century Palazzo Giureconsulti, in the heart of Milan (Piazza Mercanti 2 – Piazza Duomo) will be the “core business” of the event (admission by invitation with accreditation) with 140 Projections (among which 30 worldwide and European premieres: on screen Cristiano Ronaldo, Lionel Messi, Francesco Totti, Diego Armando Maradona, etc.), 8 Meetings, 2 Workshop, 2 Press Conference, 30 Awards of international guests, 7 Side Events distributed in 10 locations around Milano, 4 Exhibitions among which one dedicated to the FIFA World Cup with the exhibition of memorabilia (i.e: the original “Italia 90” ball signed by Pelè) and the celebratory posters of the tournaments: the first edition in Uruguay in 1930, Switzerland 1954, the first to be broadcasted on television, Russia 2018, the most technological ever, etc. The Auditorium Testori of Palazzo Lombardia (Piazza Città di Lombardia, 1 – Milano) will host the “Opening Ceremony” (November 14th) and the “Award Ceremony” (November 19th).

Based on several requests from producers, the Jury of “Sport Movies & Tv 2018” will accept the productions concerning the FIFA World Cup – and only this – by September 5, 2018 instead of by July 28, as required by the Regulations.
