Mr. Edgar Watson Suubi, the Chief Executive Officer- Federation of Uganda Football Associations (FUFA) has been declared opened, in grand style, the 14th edition of the “Kampala International FICTS Fest” at the “TAL Cottages Hotel”.

The “Opening Ceremony” graced by Mr. Edgar Watson Suubi, news of more than 50 Entries from 24 Countries, has been opened by the message from FICTS President Prof. Franco Ascani about congratulating  “Ambassadors” of the sports values of excellence in the name of universality, friendship, brotherhood, solidarity, fair play and ethics, was shared. The message also indicated that Prof. Ascani lauded FICTS Uganda for braving to organize the Festival when the World is still confronted bythe  ill health emergency of the Covid 19 pandemic.

In his address to members in attendance the President FICTS Uganda, Dr. Dean Kibirige, pledged to maintain and to grow the Festival , the late Andrew Patrick Luwandagga started 13 years ago, to greater heights. He also informed the media participants in attendance that there was need for deep research, patience and determination when making sports production in order match the best in the World. 

In his Speech the chief guest Mr. Edgar Watson Suubi, lauded FICTS Uganda for sustaining and organizing the Kampala FICTS fest, even after the demise of its founder the legendary broadcaster Andrew Patrick Luwandagga. He further addedthat this was a landmark achievement because in the whole of Africa, Uganda is the only country that has been conducting this festival for a very long time until of recent when Kenya and Morocco  joined abode.

He saluted Dr. Dean Kibirige and  FICTS Uganda for carrying on the legacy and not forgetting the late Andrew Patrick Luwandagga. He urged Producers, Directors and participants present not to relax but should continue doing their best, in order for the public to get the best. He further added that they Sports Technical persons are using the sports footage producers capture during events for technical analysis and evaluation.
