The city of Liberec in Czech Republic was the seat – from 15 to 17 October – of the 16th edition of “Liberec International FICTS Festival” finished with the delivery of “Jiří Kössl” prize to the winners at Babylon centre – Tropical garden.

The event was organized – in the framework of the Worldwide Championship of the Cinema and sport television “World FICTS Challenge” – by the “Sports and Physical Training Organization” of Liberec in collaboration with FICTS, the Regional organization of The Czech Union of Sport in Liberec distrikt. Professional guarantees are The Czech Olympic Committee, Czech Union of Sport, Film and Television Associoation (FITES).

“THE AWARD OF JIŘÍ KÖSSL”: Czech Olympic Academy awards this prize, based on juries recommendation, of 16th year Sport Film Liberec to Dana Zátopková “for Lifetime promotion and implementation of Olympic ideas and ideals, for her sport, coaching and functionaries activities”. She is the wife of Emil Zátopek a Czech long-distance runner best known for winning three gold medals at the 1952 Summer Olympics in Helsinki

Dana Zátopková former javelin thrower. She won the gold medal for javelin in the
1952 Summer Olympics andthe silver medal in the 1960 Summer Olympics.
She was the European champion in 1954 and 1958. She also set a world record in 1958 (55.73 m)
when she was 35, making her the oldest woman to break one in an outdoor athletics event.

The winners of “Liberec International FICTS Festival” will participate into “Sport Movies & Tv 2013 – 31st Milano International FICTS Fest” worldwide Final scheduled in Milano from 4 – 8 december.
