The Executive Committee of FICTS – Federation Internationale Cinema Television Sportifs (chaired by Prof. Franco Ascani Member of “IOC Commission for Culture and Olympic Heritage”) recognized by the International Olympic Committee for which it promotes the values of sports through the images in the 114 Member Countries, has approved the 2016 “SPORT E-MOTIONS” Calendar of 18 Festivals of the “WORLD FICTS CHALLENGE (WFC)” Worldwide Championship of Television, Cinema, Communication, New Media and Sports Culture.

  • Barcelona (Spain) will be the seat – from 3th to 7th May – of the six edition of “BCN Sports Film 2016 – Barcelona International FICTS Festival” organized by the “Fundacio Olympic Barcelona” directed by Dr Juli Pernas Lopez (director of Museu Olímpic i de l’Esport Joan Antoni Samaranch) in collaboration with FICTS and “Nikita Distribution” with support of the Ayuntament de Barcelona Institut Barcelona Esport and Spanish Olympic Committee
  • Kathmandu, the capital and largest municipality of Nepal, will host – on 27 – 28 February – the second edition of the “Nepal International Sports FICTS Film Festival”. The event, directed by Surya Thapaliya, is organized by the Nepal Tourism Board, National Sports Council, Nepal Sports Foundation in collaboration with FICTS and Nepalese Olympic Committee. The Festival aims to bring the general public in contact with sports-oriented audiovisual contents and the values that they represent and also envisions establishing a tradition of film festivals completely dedicated to sports which is the combination of art, passion, entertainment and excitement.
  • Los Angeles (USA) – from 7 to 10 April – will be the seat of seventh edition of the “All Sports Los Angeles Film Festival” organized by Housier Hoosier Daddy Films directed by Pat Battistini (Director of the Festival) in collaboration with FICTS and Green House Studios. The event will be held at “Regal Cinemas”.
  • Antonio Leal is the Director and founder of the “7th CINEfoot – International Football Film Festival” the film Festival whose main theme is “Football”. The Festival is organized by Ministry of Culture and Federal Justice Cultural Center in collaboration with FICTS, Riofilme-Distributor and Municipality of Rio de Janeiro. CINEfoot’s 7th edition will take place from 19 to 24 May in Rio de Janeiro, from 2 to 7 June in Sao Paulo and from 3 to 8 June in Belo Horizonte. CINEfoot is the first and only film festival in Brazil and Latin America to promote and screen football films.
  • Spoleto (Italy), candidate city to become “Italian Capital of Culture 2017”, will host the first edition of “Spoleto International FICTS Festival” from 10 to 18 September. The Festival (directed by Stefano Alleva) is organized by the Associazione Culturale Harvey and by Spoletoproevents, with the support of FICTS and the patronage of the Municipality of Spoleto (Promoter of the event), the Umbria Region, the Ministry of Culture and the Ministry of Health. Objectives of the event: the promotion of cultural and ethical values of sport, sports activities and promotion of the territory.
  • Tehran (I. R. Iran) will be the seat – from 29 May – 1 June – of the “11th Tehran International FICTS Festival” organized by National Olympic Committee, National Paralympic Committee, Ministry of Youth & Sport, Cinema Organization of I. R. Iran. The Festival, directed by Mr. Seyed Amir Hosseini, has the aim to promote the quality of sports images. Prestigious locations will host the event: National Olympic and Paralympic Academy, Tehran Fire & Water Park, Tehran Laleh Park,Goftogoo Park, Tehran Yas Park, Tehran Mellat Park, Chitgar Lake (open air LCD).
  • The seventh edition of “Hanoi International FICTS Festival – Sport, Tourism, Movies & Tv”, organized by the “Vietnam Cinema of Sports & Tourism” (directed by Bui The Vinh) in collaboration with the Ministry of Sports, Culture and Tourism of Vietnam and by the Vietnamese Olympic Committee, will be held in Hanoi (Vietnam) from 20 to 23 June. Feature of this edition is tourism combined to sport. The Festival aims to further promote the quality of sport and tourism through the audiovisual.
  • Andrew Patrick Luwandagga, FICTS 1st V. President, is the promoter and the organizer of the “10th Kampala International FICTS Festival” organized in Kampala (Uganda) from 20 – 22 June. The event is organized with the patronage of National Council of Sports. Television broadcastings, world-wide Networks, radio, houses of production, major producers, directors, filmmakers will participate with documentaries, fiction, adverts, cartoon, etc. from all over the world. The Theatre “Labonita” and the “Sea Scalop” will be the venues of the Festival.
  • Tashkent (Republic of Uzbekistan) will host the “11th Tashkent International FICTS Festival” from 18 to 21 September. The Festival – directed by Dr Sabir Ruziev FICTS Vice President, President of Uzbek Fencing Federation – is organized by Uzbek Fencing Federation with FICTS’s support under the patronage of the Uzbek Olympic National Committee with the partnership of Begim Llc. The. The venues of the Festival where will be scheduled events, meetings and sports viewing films will be the “Republican House of Cinematographers” as well as the “Palace of Cinema”.
  • Lipetsk (Russia) will host – from 27 to 30 September – the 12th edition of “Atlant International FICTS Festival” organized by the “New Cinematoghaph Company” directed by Nikolay Porokhovink. The aim of the Festival is demonstration of the modern tendencies of physical culture and sports represented in both cinema and TV and interchanging the filmmaker’ experience as well. The Festival avails itself of the Patronage of the Russian Olympic Committee and of the Lipetsk Russian administration.
  • Liberec in Czech Republic will be the seat – from 2 to 6 October – of the 19th edition of “Liberec International FICTS Festival”. The event is organized by the “Sports and Physical Training Organization” of Liberec in collaboration with FICTS, Czech Olympic Committee, Film and Television Association (FITES). The Festival, presided by Milan Jirásek and by the V. President Ing. Vladimír Boháč, is directed by Dr Pavel Landa. It is an international competitive Festival of television and film images focusing on “Olympic Idea, Olympic Games and Sport”.
  • Brussels (Belgium) will host – from 3 to 6 October – the second edition of “Brussels European FICTS Sports Film Festival” European phase of the “World FICTS Challenge”. The event, directed by Jean-Pierre Brouhon, is organized by Panathlon Wallonie-Bruxelles chaired by Philippe Housiaux in collaboration with FICTS.

 

  • Milano (Italy) will host, from 16 to 21 November, Sport Movies & Tv – Milano International FICTS Fest” at the end of the “World FICTS Challenge” through “FICTS is Culture through sport” slogan. Six days of Tv, Cinema and Sport Culture articulated into Projections (with worldwide and European premieres), Meetings, Workshops, Exhibitions, Press Conferences, Side Events, Awards of international guests. The event is organized by FICTS with the support of Municipality of Milano, Lombardia Region, Ministry of Cultural Heritage and Activities and Tourism.
