In view of the closing of submissions to “SPORT MOVIES & TV 2018 – 36th Milano International FICTS Fest(www.sportmoviestv.com) Final of 16 Festivals (around the 5 Continents) of the “World FICTS ChallengeWorld Championship of Television, Cinema, Communication and Sport Culture scheduled in Milano (Italy), from 14th to 19th November, the Organizing Committee of 36th edition of the Festival, has approved two news. The assignment – beyond of the “Guirlande d’Honneur”, of “Mention d’Honner” as well as of the “Special Awards” – of the “Super Award” of money of € 3.000 (three-thousand euro) assigned by the International Jury to the absolute winner among the 7 competitive Sections: 1) Olympic Games; 2) Documentary; 3) Sport & Society; 4) Sport and Disability; 5) Movies; 6) Sport Adverts; 7) Movies & Tv Football.

  • The registration to participate in “Sport Movies & Tv 2018” are opened. The Official Rules is available on http://www.fictsfederation.it/rule_spmtv2018.pdf. It’s possible to submit the productions also through the Film Free Way platform in the page dedicate dto the Festival (https://filmfreeway.com/SportMoviesTv). For those who submit their works by July 10th, the Organizing Committee has provided a 30% discount on the registration fee (€ 49 instead of € 70). The seventeenth-century Palazzo Giureconsulti, in the heart of Milan (Piazza Mercanti 2 – Piazza Duomo) will be the “core business” of the event (admission by invitation with accreditation) with 120 Projections (among which 30 worldwide and European premieres in 6 points of projections), 4 Exhibitions, 8 Meetings, 2 Workshop, 2 Press Conference, 16 Awards of international guests, 7 Side Events distributed in 10 locations around Milano. The Auditorium Testori of Palazzo Lombardia (Piazza Città di Lombardia, 1 – Milano) will host the “Opening Ceremony” (November 14th) and the “Award Ceremony” (November 19th).

FICTS PAYS THE 50% OF THE COST OF THE HOTEL

  • FICTS will pay the 50% of the cost of the overnight stay in the Admiral Hotel (4 **** in Via Domodossola, 16) for all the period of the Festival if the hotel reservation arrived by and no later than September 25th (fictsfederation.it/hotelreservationform.doc). Admiral Hotel, with over 6,000 pieces of memorabilia about cinema in exposition, is located just opposite (50 meters) to the CityLife park, the most exclusive residential area in Milan with an area of 255.000 square meters who offers three shopping areas that offer their own unique experience with plenty to discover (80 stores, 1 supermarket, 20 restaurants and bars and 7 movie theater screens with a total of 1.200 seats). The Admiral Hotel – connected to the entire underground network – enjoys easy access to the city center and shopping areas being 30 meters from the Metro (M5 stop Domodossola) as well as the Milano Nord Domodossola train station directly connected to the Malpensa Express to airport.   • In the year of the FIFA World Cup Russia 2018, football will have the role of protagonist with the International Festival “Movies & Tv Football” consisting of television and productions dedicated to football: fiction, documentaries, shorts, stories of champions, broadcasts and tv programs, etc. whose main theme is football in the various applications, for television, for cinema, for new technological platforms. Based on several requests from producers, the Jury of “Sport Movies & Tv 2018” will accept the productions concerning the FIFA World Cup – and only this – by September 15th, 2018 instead of by July 28, as required by the Regulations.

The event – under the slogan “FICTS Is Culture through sport” – is organized by FICTS – Federation Internationale Cinema Television Sportifs, joined with 116 Countries (chaired by Prof. Franco Ascani, member of IOC Culture and Olympic Heritage Commission) recognized by the International Olympic Committee for which it promotes the values of sport through footages.
