Cristiano Ronaldo and Leo Messi: an eternal challenge told in “Ronaldo vs Messi: face off!”, a documentary (directed and produced by Tara Pirnia) that highlights the most felt “sporting rivalry”, talent and ability in modern football between the two football stars of the contemporary era. The FIFA World Cup Russia 2018, despite of both having been eliminated with the own National teams, began under the sign of the “Golden Ball” CR7 (just moved to Serie A with the jersey of the Italian Champion Juventus) author of a hat-trick (all debut against Spain) with another record-breaking performance of a player who seems to know no limits. The movie, produced in 2017, will open the Festival in the seventeenth-century Palazzo Giureconsulti, in the heart of Milan (Piazza Mercanti 2 – Piazza Duomo) “core business” of the event (admission by invitation with accreditation) with 120 Projections (among which 30 worldwide and European premieres), 4 Exhibitions, 4 Meetings, 2 Workshop, 2 Press Conference, 16 Awards of international guests, 7 Side Events distributed in 10 locations around Milano. The Auditorium Testori of Palazzo Lombardia (Piazza Città di Lombardia, 1 – Milano) will host the “Opening Ceremony” (November 14th) and the “Award Ceremony” (November 19th).

The International Jury, according with the Organizing Committee of “SPORT MOVIES & TV 2018 – 36th Milano International FICTS Fest(www.sportmoviestv.com) Final of 16 Festivals (around the 5 Continents) of the “World FICTS ChallengeWorld Championship of Television, Cinema, Communication and Sport Culture scheduled in Milano (Italy), from 14th to 19th November, established to extend until September 15th, 2018 (6 p.m.) the submissions and delivery of the productions for all the 7 competitive Sections in order suits to all requests received by producers and directors, i.e. about editing of FIFA World Cup Russia 2018 (recently completed), international Sports Events as well as world championship.  In order to facilitate Jury’s work, it is suggested to send  as soon as possible the “Entries Forms” duly filled in (available at www.fictsfederation.it/festivalform.doc). Football, with prestigious guests, will have the role of protagonist with the International Festival “Movies & Tv Football” consisting of television and productions dedicated to football: fiction, documentaries, shorts, stories of champions, broadcasts and tv programs, etc. whose main theme is football in the various applications, for television, for cinema, for new technological platforms.

There are two news in the 2018 edition of “Sport Movies & Tv”:

  • The assignment – beyond of the “Guirlande d’Honneur”, of “Mention d’Honner” as well as of the “Special Awards” – of the “Super Award” of money of € 3.000 (three-thousand euro) assigned by the International Jury to the absolute winner among the 7 competitive Sections.
  • The payment, by FICTS, of the 50% of the cost of the overnight stay in the Admiral Hotel (4 **** in Via Domodossola, 16) for all the period ( 2 persons) of the Festival if the hotel reservation arrived by and no later than September 15th (www.fictsfederation.it/hotelreservationform.doc). Admiral Hotel, with over 6,000 pieces of memorabilia about cinema in exposition, is located just opposite (50 meters) to the CityLife park, the most exclusive residential area in Milan with an area of 255.000 square meters with 80 stores, 1 supermarket, 20 restaurants and bars and 7 movie theater screens with a total of 1.200 seats as well as far from 30 meters from the Metro (M5 stop Domodossola). The seat of the Festival in Piazza Duomo (venue of the Festival) in 13 minutes by tram n° 19 (V.le Boezio stop in front of the hotel).

The event – under the slogan “FICTS Is Culture through sport” – is organized by FICTS – Federation Internationale Cinema Television Sportifs, joined with 116 Countries (chaired by Prof. Franco Ascani, member of IOC Culture and Olympic Heritage Commission) recognized by the International Olympic Committee for which it promotes the values and the olympism of sport through footages.
