FICTS President Prof. Franco Ascani (IOC Member for “Culture and Olympic Heritage Commission”)  officially presented to the press the program of  “SPORT MOVIES & TV 2016 – 34th Milano International FICTS Fest” Final of 16 Festivals (around the 5 Continents) of the “World FICTS Challenge” World Championship of Television, Cinema, Communication and Sport Culture scheduled in Milan (Italy) from 16 to 21 November 2016 in the “Olympic year 2016”.

The Festival – in the pursuit of the motto “FICTS Is Culture through sport” – is organised by FICTS – Federation Internationale Cinema Television Sportifs is joined by 116 Countries recognized by the International Olympic Committee to promote the values of sport through images.

Ruud Gullit, Frank Rijkaard e Marco Van Basten,  the memorable “Dutch Trio” of AC Milan together with the historic captain Franco Baresi  and Arrigo Sacchi who led the Rossoneri to a long series of international victories in the 80’s/90’s (1 Championship, 1 Italian Super Cup, 2 European Cups, 2 European Super Cups and 2 Intercontinental), will be among the “Guests of Honour” at the “Opening Ceremony” scheduled on Wednesday, November 16th (6.00 p.m.) at the seventeenth century Palazzo Giureconsulti, in the heart of the city of Milan (Piazza Mercanti, 2 – Duomo) that will also be the “core business” of the event (admission by invitation. At the Ceremony, among the others, will be present: the International Greek artist Mina Papatheodorou-Valyraki “IOC Sports Artist of the Year 2014” will present the art exhibition dedicated to sport entitled “Arte in Movimento” sponsored by “Ethniki Insurance Company”, Simone Moro, the only mountaineer in history to make the the first winter ascent to four of the eight-thousanders, Apichatpong Weerasethakul, Thai independent director who won the Palme d’Or at the Cannes Film Festival.

Palazzo Giureconsulti will be articulated in 145 Projections selected among the 73 Countries (among which 30 worldwide and European premieres in 5 points of projections), 6 Exhibitions, 8 Meetings, 2 Workshop, 2 Press Conference, 7 Side Events of sport and culture, 23 Awards of international guests. The event is organized in collaboration with BMW Milano and Sergio Bonelli Editore founder of the leading publisher of comic book market on the occasion of 30 years of “Dylan Dog”.
