5 AUGUST 2015: KAZAN (REP. OF TATARSTAN – RUSSIA) HOSTS THE MEETING “ONE YEAR TO GO TO RIO 2016”

The Organising Committee for the Rio 2016 Olympic Games (5 to 21 August 2016) has unveiled the Olympic torch that will carry the Olympic flame across Brazil next year. There were in Brasilia the President of Brazil Dilma Rousseff and the President of the Rio 2016 Committee Carlos Nuzman (member of “FICTS Hall of Fame”). The innovative design, which is inspired by the warmth of the Brazilian people, features movable segments that expand vertically to reveal the colours of Brazil when the Olympic flame is passed from one torchbearer to another. The triangular shape of the torch, meanwhile, alludes to the three Olympic values of excellence, friendship and respect, while the floating effect of its different segments represents the efforts of the athletes. The design chosen is that of the São Paulo-based creative studio Chelles & Hayashi.

On August 5^th, 2015, FICTS – Federation Internationale Cinema Television Sportifs )recognized by the International Olympic Committee for which promotes the sports values through the images in 113 Countries) will organized in Kazan (Rep. of Tatarstan – Russia) together with the Organizing Committee of the “Kazan Worldwide Final of World FICTS Challenge 2015” Final of 16 Festivals of the “World FICTS Challenge”, Worldwide Championship of Cinema and Sport Television in conjunction with FINA World Swimming Championships, the Meeting “One year to go to Rio 2016”. To the Meeting will attend, together with Prof. Franco Ascani FICTS President and Member of IOC Commission for “Culture and Olympic Heritage” and representatives of Brazilian Olympic Committee: Ching-Kuo Wu IOC EB Member, V. President of the Association of Summer Olympic International Federations, President of International Boxing Association (AIBA), Alexander Zhukov President of the Russian Olympic Committee and IOC Member, Yvan De Navacelle De Coubertin International Pierre de Coubertin Committee President, Shamil Тarpischev IOC Member, Russian Tennis Federation President, Alicia Massoni De Morea V. President Argentine Olympic Committee, Donna De Varona Member of “Women and Sport” IOC Commission and American former competition swimmer, Olympic gold medalist (Tokyo 1964), former world record-holder and television sportscaster. During the meeting will be shown the official videos of 2016 Rio Olympic Games.

The “Kazan Worldwide Final of World FICTS Challenge 2015” is organized by the Ministry of Sport and Youth of the Republic of Tatarstan in collaboration and under the aegis of FICTS. The Hermitage Concert Hall will be the scenario of the “Opening Ceremony” of the Festival where will be attend the President of Republic of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov. The “3D Port” Cinema will be the “Core Business” of the Festival articulated in 100 Projections (40 sport disciplines coming from 31 Countries), 4 Meetings, 4 Exhibitions at the “Port 3D Cinema”, 5 Side Events, 2 Workshops and Awards of prestigious international guests of television, sports and cinema.
