Lipetsk (Russia) will host – from 4 to 7 October 2016 – the 12nd edition of “Atlant logo-atlantInternational FICTS Festival” organized by Lipetsk organized by the Lipetsk Regional Administration, the Russian Olympic Committee, Lipetsk Regional Department of Physical Culture and Sport, the «New Cinema» company directed by Nikolay Porokhovink FICTS Member of International Festival Commission.

The Festival avails itself of the Patronage of the Russian Ministry of Sport and of the Federation Internationale Cinema Television Sportifs. The Festival will be structure into projections, workshops, conferences, meetings with the presence of the main Russian television. The aim of the Festival is demonstration of the modern tendencies of physical culture and sports represented in both cinema and TV and interchanging the filmmaker’ experience as well.

The “Opening Ceremony” of the “Atlant International FICTS Festival” will be held at the “T. N. Khrennikov Concert” hall on October 4 (at 6 p.m. with free entrance). The program will include: “The red carpet”, a contest film demonstration, the concert program. Demonstration of the contest films will be organized at the department store “Moskva”, the movie theater “Malina” within the period from October 5 to October 7 (from 9 a.m. till 7 p.m.). Free entrance. Within the Festival exit demonstration of the contest films and creative meetings with the film authors will take place in the districts of Lipetsk region and in the city of Lipetsk.

Every year the number of the participants countries increases: this year 100 films from 32 countries of the world will take part in four Sections of the international contest: “Sport and Personality”, “Sport and Society”, “The Best Feature Film about Sport” and “Fidelity to the Olympic Ideals” and the nomination of the Russian contest “The Best TV Program”.

This year the International Jury will include such masters of sports cinema and editors of sports programs as:

  • Vladimir Petrov (Russia), chairman of the jury, two-time Olympic champion, ten-time World Hockey Champion, film producer, Russia.
  • Vanya Dermendzieva (Bulgaria), sports editor of the Bulgarian national television, editor of «Eurosport» Channel, Bulgaria.
  • Jovan Markovic (Serbia), chairman of the Filmmakers union of Serbia, film director, Serbia.
  • Evgeny Bogatyrev (Russia), Russian representative at the Federation Internationale Cinema Television Sportifs, winner of many international festivals and sports cinema contests, awarded with the Badge of Honour “For Merits in Development of the Olympic Movement in Russia“, covered 17 edition of Olympic Games, Russia.
  • Boris Mayevsky (Russia), Honoured Culture Worker of Ukraine, chairman of the Filmmakers union of the Republic of Crimea, Russia.

The honoured guests of the festival:

  • Evgeny Zagorulko, Honored Athletics Coach of the USSR and Russia (high jumps).
  • Andrey Silnov, member of the Russian athletics national team, Olympic high jumps Champion (Beijing, 2008), Champion of Europe (2006), the Honoured Master of Sports of Russia.
  • Sergey Miroshnichenko, film director, scriptwriter, teacher, professor, winner  of two state awards, Russia.

Within the contest program a premier demonstration and a meeting with filmmakers of the movie “Rings of the World” will take place. It is an official movie of XXII Olympic Winter Games in Sochi.

Director general and founder of the “Atlant”  Festival, film director, Director General of the “New Cinema” company Nikolay Porokhovnik has told: “Many works which became winners and prize-winners of our festival, are awarded at the other world festivals. It speaks about high level of the “Atlant” contest films!”.
