The sport education comes in the schools of Milano (Italy) through images. The initiative aimed to the spread of sports and fair-play culture, of the Olympic values ​​among young people, entitled “Culture through footages – projections in schools” continues. The initiative is organized by FICTS – Federation Internationale Cinema Television Sportifs in the context of “Trofei di Milano 2016 – The educational process in school“, reached the 53rd edition and that, from 1964 till today, has recorded the participation of 3 million two hundred thousand students. The projections are presented by FICTS President Prof. Franco Ascani Member of “IOC Commission for Culture and Heritage Olympic”.


The program of meetings (1½ hour each) – free of charge – to which take part 60 schools of Milano, expects the presentation of videos about the importance of sport as a social investment and as a means of education, the training and inclusion of its protagonists, interrupted by a discussion with students and teachers, highlighting the training and educational aspects of sport. The international videos shown were selected at the last edition of “Sport Movies & Tv” scheduled in Milano as Final of the Worldwide Championship of Television, Cinema, Sport, Culture and Communication (articulated in 5 continents). The 2016 edition will take place in Milano from 15 to 20 November.

Olympic Games, bullying, doping, victory and defeat in sport: these are some of the themes of the films shown. “Peace through Sport (train the spirit of peace among peoples), “Sport defends you” (sport as a mean to combat bullying in schools), “1896: Born of the cinema and the Olympic Games” (the first steps of the Cinema and of the modern Olympics), “This is Sport” (What sport? Passion, courage, determination, improvement, enthusiasm, fair play).

The initiative “Culture through images” – organized by FICTS Italia a.s.d. (which provides for the videos), the AICS under the patronage of the Regional School for Lombardy, the Lombardy Region, the Metropolitan City of Milan, Milan City Council, FIDAL, Italian NOC and the support of the “Centrale del Latte di Milano” – is inserted in the educational-cultural program of “Trofei di Milano 2016”” aimed to the development of intellectual abilities of youth covering, such as human growth factor, a role in character and education formation of the person: environmental sustainability, development of creativity, the acquisition of social and relational experiences, etc.

The “Trofei di Milano” will be finish at the Arena Brera of Milan, with the Finals (13-14-15 April 2016), which include outdoor sports and educational initiatives for students, their family members, including a free walk titled “Maximarcia of School in the Olympic Year 2016” (15 April – 9 am) with free submissions to all the citizens without limit of age.
