Prof. Franco Ascani, President of FICTS – Federation Internationale Cinema Television Sportifs (joined with 114 Member Countries) recognized by the International Olympic Committee for which it promotes the values of sports through the images, has met in Sophia Antipolis a technology park northwest of Antibes and southwest of Nice (France) in Côte d’Azur, the highest delegates of prestigious sports and Institutional Organizations.

During the meetings laid the groundwork for future collaboration with the Federation, first of all the organization, in Sophia Antipolis, of a Phase of the “World FICTS Challenge 2016 (WFC)”, Worldwide Championship of Television, Cinema, Communication, New Media and Sports Culture.

Prof. Ascani has visited the locations that will host the Festival including the AzurArena Antibes, Sports Palace (5000 seats) home of the basketball team of Sharks Antibes, the Sophia Club that will be the seat of tennis Academy of Patrick Moratuglu (coach of Serena Williams), the Centre Aquatique Nautipolis and the Golf Provençal.

At the meetings were present, together with Dr Enzo Cappiello FICTS Hon. President of CASA (Community Antibes Sophia Antipolis), Dr Philippe Khaldi Council Member for Sport of Municipality.

The “World FICTS Challenge 2016 (WFC)” is articulated into 18 Festivals in the 5 Continents. The first will take place in Kathmandu, the capital and largest municipality of Nepal, from 27 – 28 February. The second edition of the “Nepal International Sports FICTS Film Festival”, directed by Surya Thapaliya, is organized by the Nepal Tourism Board, National Sports Council, Nepal Sports Foundation in collaboration with FICTS and Nepalese Olympic Committee. The Festival aims to bring the general public in contact with sports-oriented audiovisual contents and the values that they represent and also envisions establishing a tradition of film festivals completely dedicated to sports which is the combination of art, passion, entertainment and excitement.
