In the striking setting of the Monastery of the Santa Lucia and Agata alla Civita, in the heart of the “Sassi” in Matera (Italy), took place the “Award Ceremony” of the “3rd International Matera FICTS Festival”, with the awarding of prizes to the winners.


Matera, 2 June 2013: “Awarding Ceremony” of “3rd Matera International FICTS Festival”

The event, part of the “World FICTS Challenge” Worldwide Championship of Cinema and Sport Television, was organized by the Matera Virtus Sports Association in collaboration with FICTS and the support of Comune, Provincia di Matera, APT Basilicata, Matera Chamber of Commerce and 2019 Matera Committee for European cultural capital. Festival Director, Dr Michele Di Gioia, expressed great satisfaction with the appreciation recorded for the connection between sport and art proposed by the Festival and thank the organizations that have hosted screenings of films in competition, in addition to institutions that sponsored the third edition.

The winner of the Section “Movies” was the film “Ginger More Than a Game” (Re-Kreativno – Serbia), directed by Gordon Matic who received the Award by Pavel Landa, President of the Organizing Committee “Liberec International FICTS Festival” in Czech Republic.

In Section “Documentary” won “The football city: Torino” (One Machine – Italy) directed by Alberto Osella who received the award from the President of the Regional Council of Basilicata, Vincenzo Santochirico.

In Section “TV Broadcast and New Technologies” the winner was Basketball & Lifestyle (International 3on3 Basketball Board – Italy) directed by Andrea Manzo awarded by Michele Grieco, Deputy Mayor for Youth in the Province of Matera.

The video “Life is sport, Life is love” (Action Television Production – Romania) directed by Alina Cosmoiu and Bogdan Malciu received by Pierfrancesco Pellecchia, President of the Parco of the Murgia of Matera. the “Special Prize” of the Jury presided by Mirco Cussigh, Member of the Committee on Culture and Education and Youth FICTS composed of a sports journalist Margaret Agata and directors Andrisani Antonio, Vito Cea and Geo Coretti.

During the Ceremony was presented with a Special Award for the video “Sportabilia – Ten years of extraordinary stories in sports” (Raisport). Dr Lorenzo Roata, journalist and creator of the program, has received THE award from Luke Braia, Councillor for Mobility, Transport and Infrastructure of the Region of Basilicata

During the ceremony, coordinated by journalist Andrea Toads, Antonella Mazzilli presented recreational and educational activities relating to the arts and movement, organized in collaboration with Dina Gaudiano.

The winners of the “3rd International Matera FICTS Festival” will participate ex officio in “Sport Movies & Tv 2013 – 31st Milano International FICTS Fest” Final “WFC” World Championship of Film and Television Sport in prgr in Milan from 4 8 December.
