The President of FICTS – Federation Internationale Cinema Television Sportifs Prof. Franco Ascani was awarded with the “Honorary Degree” with the title of “International Honorary Doctorate” in Philosopia by the USSA – United States Sports Academy, America’s Sports University, the most important Master Sport Academy of the United States of America that every year assign this prestigious awards.

For 2015 Prof. Franco Ascani was named “Man of the Year for International Sport”, the first Italian in the long history of the Academy. In the “Hall of Fame”, among others: HRH Prince Feisal Al Hussein of Jordan (2014), HRH Prince Albert of Monaco (2011), HRH Tamim Bin Hamad Al-Thani Emir of Qatar, IOC Honorary President Jacques Rogge (2004), George Bush (2001).
In the explanatory statement read during the lavish ceremony, at the presence of important political, academic and sports authorities, on November 6 in Daphne (Alabama), the President of the USSA Dr Thomas Rosandich highlighted “the significant role played by Prof. Ascani as researcher and sport expert and Olympic Movement with assignments in the IOC as well as in the Academic world as Director of the Master (14 years) for the Sport Management at the University of Milano Bicocca.
Prof. Ascani in his report, in the Hall of Ceremonies of Academy, highlighted “the educational significance of sport, culture and of the image of sport at universal level as moment of formation of the new generation”.
In one week, Prof. Franco Ascani has received two prestigious awards. On 1 November in Milano during “Exsport Movies & Tv 2015” he was inserted in the “Hall of Fame” of the International Olympic Journalists Association and he received the Award by President Dr Alain Lunzenfichter.
