An exceptional European premiere will be presented in “Sport Movies & Tv 2013 – 31st Milano International FICTS Fest” Final of 14 Festivals of the Worldwide Championship of Cinema and Sport Television “World FICTS Challenge”, carried out in the 5 Continents.

“Match” produced by Rekun Film (Russia) and directed by Andrey Malyukov, The film is based on the real events. 1942, occupied Kiev. The football team “Start”, composed basically by ex-players of the famous Dinamo Kiev, played ten matches against the team of the occupant forces and won all the matches. Then, the Nazis formed the special team that they reinforced with players from the professional Reichsleague in order to organise the return match. They must win it all costs to prove the declared superiority of the Aryan race. Their plan failed due to the heroism, spirit and the sports honour of the soviet players. The movie, like the most famous “Two Half Times in Hell” and “Escape to Victory”, tells the facts of 9th August 1942 in the notorious “Death Match”.

This story inspired the great American filmmaker John Huston for his memorable “Escape to Victory” filmed in 1981 in France with an extraordinary cast : Sylvester Stallone, Michael Caine , Bobby Moore, Pele, Ardiles . The two films , which look similar , but have some significant differences : the happy ending of a cinematographic work is not what really happened to the 90th . In the film, John Houston missed a penalty at Sylvester Stallone , while in reality , the defender Klimenko , after passing the entire German team, just before the doors , instead of kicking the ball in the door , turns around and sends it to the midfield in total sign of disrespect . It was the last act of freedom of a team whose players were shot and thrown into mass graves. The city of Kiev has a marble monument dedicated to the ” dead ball ” example of civil resistance located at the ” Stadium Lobanovskyj ” home of Dinamo .
